Holiday or Seasonal card

Supplies needed:
  • hard paper/card stock 1/2 a sheet 
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • sharpie
  • color pencils
  • OPTIONAL: watercolors, acrylic paint 

Holiday/Seasonal card
Essential question: How are you going to use your creativity to create a unique card?
 How will we know if they’ve learned it? 
Students will have a final masterpiece and the skills to create other works if necessary at a more advanced level.  
What will we do if they don’t learn it?
Students will be re-taught and can utilized videos to re-work missing elements of their assignment. 
 What will we do if they have / have already learned?
Students can always go above and beyond the instructions to create a more challenging experience. 
My students understand and can… by the end of the lesson
Students will understand how a basic commission piece works, the winner will be printed for the campus holiday cards. 
Teks: 117.C Creative expression. The student communicates ideas through original artwork using a variety of media with appropriate skills. The student expresses thoughts and ideas creatively while challenging the imagination, fostering reflective thinking, and developing disciplined effort and progressive problem-solving skills. The student is expected to: (A) use visual solutions to create original artwork by problem solving through direct observation, original sources, experiences, narrations, and imagination;
Description and Rubric:
This is a contest! If your card is chosen I will have it printed and used as the school holiday card. 
you will be given (in person or for pick up) a piece of card stock paper. DO NOT draw on it.
You must complete 3 sketches of your intent. No copying and NO trademark cartoon characters like spongebob.
Your image must fill the page and all areas must be in color, no large white spaces. even if you are depicting snow.
