Portfolio design (major grade) Due August 30th
- Draw your name large in block or bubble lettering
- create various textures in each letter, this should be created in pen to eliminate smudging when applying color pencil.
- Using the circle template, draw 7 circles of different sizes.
- 2 circles need to be in warm and cool color pencil. This was a demonstration completed in class, this was also done on a technique sheet.
- the rest of the circles must have something breaking in or breaking out of them. This is where you get to use your imagination.
- Grab a long ruler, trace the ruler 5 times in different directions, lift your pencil to allow the traced ruler to go under the circles and lettering
- Withing the 5 lines you can choose to color fade any colors you choose as long as they are not complementary or color opposites.
Essential question: How are the elements and principles of design used in this project? How about color theory?

Students will have a portfolio showcasing their knowledge of following directions, the elements and principles of design, color theory and texture.
What will we do if they don’t learn it?
Students will be re-taught and can utilized videos to re-work missing elements of their assignment.
What will we do if they have / have already learned?
Students can always go above and beyond the instructions to create a more challenging experience.
