Essential question: Understanding how to draw hands, what do we know of the anatomy of hands?

Students will have a final masterpiece and the skills to create other works if necessary at a more advanced level.

Students will be re-taught and can utilized videos to re-work missing elements of their assignment.

Students can always go above and beyond the instructions to create a more challenging experience.

You will need these supplies:
Using a large piece of cardboard as the background tear strips of newspaper, and drawing paper. Arrange them in various spaces leaving the cardboard exposed. You can even tear the cardboard exposing the corrugation in small areas.
Draw in pencil a min of four hands either interacting with with each other or interacting with an object (like a pencil)
Next Use color pencil, marker, watercolor to create value. Note: everytime the paper changes, the medium changes.
- cardboard
- newspaper
- color drawing paper or construction paper
- pencils of varying lead
- thin and fat sharpie
- rubber cement
- white color pencil
- brown watercolor paint and a med size paintbrush

Collage hands Rubric:
- 20pts anatomy of the hands are correct
- 30pts effective use of value showing shadows
- 30pts the medium changes every time you are on a new surface. Example: So if you are on a section of newspaper and use pencil and it changes to a colored drawing surface then us sharpie or color pencil.
- 20pts Craftsmanship, the work is complete, not rushed, not sloppy and the intent to create a solid finished piece is evident.
