100 pts possible
20 pts: gridding the flower and drawing accurately grid lines are erased
30 pts: layering in color and color blending. The color is not flat and has multiple colors creating a sense of depth.
30pts: Craftsmanship; there is no sloppy lines, edges and shadows are established. A sense of depth is perceived throughout the composition of the painting.
20pts: Color theory, you used the correct colors or used a color palette that is pleasing to the eye. you created shadows with opposite colors and blended them creating soft edges.
90-100: The work shows strong application of the medium and effective manipulation of the elements and principles of design. The work demonstrates a clarity of intentions and approaches. Most of the work engages the viewer with expressive and evocative qualities: the work suggests confidence. The work may show varying levels of accomplishment and is at a strong level.
90-80: The work shows good application of the elements and principles of design. The work shows a variety of intentions and approaches, although not all are successfully articulated. The work may show uneven levels of accomplishment, but overall it is at a good level.
80-70: The work is limiting in the elements and principles of design. The work shows a limited variety of intentions or approaches and demonstrates moderate technical competence and some knowledgeable use of materials and media. The work is at a moderate level.
Below a 70: The work shows little or very limited range of use of medium and the elements and principles of design.
The work does not clearly demonstrate a knowledge of the medium. The work is lacking in craftsmanship is sloppy, the oil pastel is smudged to the point of non-recognition of the flower or is incomplete.
If you have received a failing grade you will have one week to complete the assignment for a better grade, however, you will not be eligible for a full 100pts. This assignment is up to you to complete either on your own, during anchor time or during tutorials. If you wish to be drafted for Anchor time you must let me know in advance, not the day of, the system will not allow me to enter students in on the same day.
